Good to know: If you pass your practical driving test in a manual car, your full UK driving licence automatically qualifies you to drive both manual AND automatic cars! Learning in a manual vehicle gives you full flexibility for life.

You will be learning with Guy, a Grade A Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with over 25 years of experience teaching learners across Brighton & Hove. Guy’s high-grade teaching standards (last re-verified with Grade A in August 2021) and patient, supportive instruction style ensure beginners gain confidence quickly.

All driving lessons at Vogue Driving School are strictly 1-on-1 tuition. We have a strict policy of no car sharing and no other pupils sitting in the back of the car. During your lesson, you receive 100% of the instructor’s attention.

Our primary catchment area covers local communities across Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Southwick, and Shoreham.

If you live inside our coverage area, pick-up and drop-off are available from your home, workplace, or college.

Yes! If you live outside our primary coverage zone, you can still take driving lessons with Vogue by arranging to meet your instructor at one of our 6 designated collection points in Brighton & Hove:

Yes! Gift Vouchers are available for purchase for relatives, friends, or family members looking to start learning to drive. Please note that Gift Vouchers are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase.

All contracted lesson dates within your purchased block will be fully honored at the agreed price. However, if you choose to move your lesson dates forward into future diary dates beyond the final contracted lesson date of your block, a top-up to current hourly rates will apply if prices have increased in the interim.

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancelling or moving standard driving lessons. For Monday lessons, notice must be received by 5:00 PM on the preceding Saturday so that the slot can be reallocated.

• Test Day Cancellations: Require a full 72 hours’ notice. Lessons will not be replaced if 72 hours’ notice is not provided.
• 6+ Hours in the Same Week: Cancelling 6 or more hours of lessons within a single week requires a full 48 hours’ notice. (Cancellations after 5:00 PM on Saturday count as Monday).

Your instructor will text you upon arrival at your agreed pick-up location and wait for 15 minutes. If we do not hear from you within 15 minutes, the lesson will be considered missed and forfeited to keep the rest of the day’s schedule on track.

Lessons can only be moved up to 2 weeks ahead to the nearest available date (subject to instructor diary space). We do not move lesson slots months in advance.

If your circumstances change, unused block hours can be refunded under the following conditions:

• Refunds must be claimed within 3 months of purchase. After 3 months, no refunds or replacements will be issued.
• A standard £30 administration fee applies to all processed refunds. (If a CHAPS bank transfer is required, a £25 fee applies).
• Block booking discounts are non-refundable. Used lessons from the block will be recalculated at the standard non-discounted hourly rate (£43/hr) and deducted from the amount paid before returning remaining funds.

Practical driving tests for Brighton & Hove candidates are conducted at Worthing Driving Test Centre, located at Field Place, The Boulevard, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, BN13 1NP / BN12 6EA.

Test Day is booked as a 3-hour block which includes:

• Pick-up 1 hour prior to your test appointment for warm-up driving.
• The practical driving test (40–60 minutes including debrief).
• Return transport back home or to your drop-off location.

Note: All test day payments must be received in advance to confirm booking.

Always double-check with your instructor before booking a test date! Vogue Driving School will NOT present a pupil for a practical test if the instructor evaluates that they are not ready, or if regular lessons are not maintained prior to test day.

• Traffic / Weather Delays: Instructors leave in good time, but delays caused by road closures, accidents, or severe weather are beyond our control. If you forfeit the test due to traffic, test fees are non-refundable, but Vogue will provide 1 free pre-test lesson before your next test.
• DVSA Cancellations: If the DVSA cancels your test, compensation for lost test and lesson fees must be claimed directly from the DVSA.
• Vehicle Breakdown: In the rare event of a mechanical breakdown of the instructor’s car causing test forfeiture, Vogue will refund your test fee and replace lessons for your next test.

You must hold a valid UK Provisional Driving Licence (apply online at DVLA up to 3 months before your 17th birthday). You must pass the DVSA Theory Test before you can book your practical test.

Theory Test Structure:

• Multiple-Choice Section: 57 minutes, 50 questions (Pass mark: 43 out of 50).
• Hazard Perception Section: 14 video clips containing 15 developing hazards (Pass mark: 44 out of 75).

No. Due to our local coverage area and the travel time required to reach the nearest motorway network, Vogue Driving School does not offer motorway-specific lessons. We focus on providing maximum value during your lesson time, mastering dual carriageways, rural routes, complex roundabouts, and urban navigation.

Learning speeds vary per student. The DVSA recommends an average of 45 hours of professional tuition along with 22 hours of private practice. Guy will guide your development and advise when you are approaching test readiness.
